Having seen the provisional plans for intermodal logistics park north and the logistics sites on Parkside West, which are effectively one single aggregate development Environmentally and socially, both combined, will negatively affect the lives of residents in Newton-Le-willows, Winwick, Croft, Kenyon, Lowton, Golborne, Culcheth and surrounds.
The impact will change the entire character of the region and decimate wildlife and green space enjoyed for centuries by local people and impact local quality of life. So much is being taken from communities and only small token regulatory compliance mitigation given back. For a project of this scale, this is inappropriate and unacceptable.
Therefore, I request Tritax collaborate with the three adjacent local authorities and Parkside Regeneration, the joint venture between St Helens Council and Langtree.
Aim to formulate a suitable working party, to build in and around the logistics developments a country park encompassing East and West of M6.
Footpaths through the park from adjoining towns and villages. A managed nature reserve such as we see elsewhere in the UK and the region. To preserve and enhance the local wildlife, and to shield the impact from local people and preserve the character of the area.
It is for the working party to design the park, but it must encompass the full scope of east and west and be integrated. The benefits to local people are obvious, but this will also deliver measurable environmental gains for the developers and local authorities and could be a showcase in the region for sustainable development.
Please consider carefully my request.
Yours sincerely xxxxx
